Page Keywords & Description
Keywords
If you want a page to appear in search results on your website, then be sure to add any relevant keywords. You may enter multiple words or phrases, separated by commas or spaces (we recommend commas for easier readability). NOTE: your Administrator can also control whether these keywords affect the META tags in the code of your website (see Search Engine Optimization).Your keywords will not be visible on the actual page itself. They are strictly used to give the server information about your page, and how you want to pages indexed when using the search tool on your website.
Keywords also affect whether or not pages will be relevant to each other. For more information about the relevant links engine, see Relevant Links List.
NOTE: If you do not want a page to appear in search results for the website, then leave its keywords blank.
Description
Similar to keywords, the description will not be visible on the page itself. However, if a user finds your page when using the search area of your website, then the description will appear beneath the page title. Be sure to give your page a good description so that it’s easy for users to determine what the page contains.Example of a poor Page Description: “this is the home page”
Example of a good Page Description: “Home page for Children’s Classes. We offer classes for each grade K through 6. Learn more here!”
