Search Engine Optimization
To manage META tags on your site
META tags contain information about your Website. They aren't visible to people visiting your home page, but they will be used by search engines as they index your content. We highly recommend that you create an maintain descriptive META tag keywords and descriptions.
- Choose Site Administration > Search Engine Optimization
- META Tags for my site should be:
- Page specific: choose this option if you want to create separate sets of META tags for each page of your site. This will create a lot more work on your part, but will yield much better quality results for external search visibility. NOTE: We have the ability to make page-specific keywords required or optional for your staff. Some organizations like to make this required, so that their team are obeying good practices in this area. If you want this option turned on, just contact our support team.
- Global: choose this option if you want to set a single set of keywords/description, and have them inserted into the code of every page of your site.
- Google site verification: We recommend using Google Webmaster Tools to help you monitor, analyze, and improve your site's performance on search engine rankings. Before Google can analyze your site, you will need to add a special line of code that comes from Google. When you have established your site, and are ready to Verify your site, copy the necessary tag and paste it in this field.
- Click the "Save - Finish" or "Save - Keep Working" button.
- You can view the results of your work by viewing your home page, then choose to View Source from your browser menu. You will see the "" area near the top of the code on your page.
