    User Attributes

    In addition to assigning a User Role to each person, you can also control who has access to "special" tasks and tools on your Website.  SiteOrganic offers a variety of User Attributes for this purpose.  When adding/editing a user account in SiteOrganic, you will see a list of available attributes.  Check the attributes that apply to each individual user (see User Roles/Security for more information on editing user accounts).  Below is a summary of these Attributes:

    Audio/Video

    When a user is given the Audio/Video attribute, they have the ability to work in the media archives section.  This includes the ability to add series, add programs, and make changes to existing programs.  See Media Archives for more information on this topic.  NOTE: Staff and Administrators automatically have this attribute.

     

    Manage Users

    Certain Websites on SiteOrganic feature additional security for the user list (based on client requirements).  In this case, even Administrators will not be able to view, edit, or download the user list unless they have the Manage Users attribute.  The Manage Users attribute may also apply to the Event Registration system (i.e. in this instance, workers will not be able to view attendee lists for events unless they have the Manage Users attribute).

     

    Teacher

    When adding a program to your Media Archives, you will have the option to specify the name of a speaker.  You can either type in a name manually, or select the name from a predefined list.  This predefined list is comprised of all users in your system who have the Teacher attribute applied to their user accounts.  If you have people who regularly appear as speakers, teachers, etc. on your programs, you should consider applying the Teacher attribute to their user accounts.
