Thanks for taking a moment to visit this page. We want everyone to feel that 242 is a safe place for the various stages in your personal journey. We want you to know that if are taking your next step towards God, if you want God to use you, you are welcome at 242!

But what's more important is that you listen to Jesus and follow His direction to bring you into His Kingdom, His Church. That makes you a member in His Church. 242 is just a part of that. So Jesus sets the membership requirements: 

... If you believe that God loves you and sent Jesus to forgive you and reconcile you to God, not to condemn you...John 3:16-17
... If you believe that you need to be reconciled to God because we fall short of God's standards for us..(Romans 3:23)  
... If you want to align your thinking with Jesus (repent means change your mind) Acts 2:38
... If you want to, over time, grow into all that Jesus has planned for you...(the fruit of His Spirit like love, joy, peace patience, Galatians 5:22-23.
... And if you are willing to go public by being immersed under water (baptized)...Jesus promises that He forgives you, gives you His power to help you develop a character like His and he adds you to His Church.

Now, If you want to know about the behavior of His Church, we can see this in Acts 2:42-47. ⁴² All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. ⁴³ A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. ⁴⁴ And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. ⁴⁵ They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. ⁴⁶ They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—⁴⁷ all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. NLT

I don't want to miss this opportunity to give you a flat-out challenge.  Jesus said, 'I'm going to do one thing between my ascension and my return and that is' -- 'I'm going to build my church". That is God's #1 priority. That means His people are the major HOPE in His daring plot to save the world!! So, we need to focus, because government and education and business can't change hearts, so then, I want to ask you this question.  "Do you want your life appropriately ordered around the establishment, development, participation, in prayer for and support for His mission to spread His Kingdom and save the world?  Because that is the true meaning of membership.
